Equipment

  • Baking sheet For baking the wrapped brie.
  • Parchment Paper To prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • Rolling Pin To flatten and even out the puff pastry.
  • Knife For chopping nuts, fruit, and trimming excess pastry.
  • Brush For applying the egg wash.
  • Mixing bowl To toss or prepare toppings like nuts and cranberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 round Brie cheese wheel (8–10 ounces; double-cream or triple-cream preferred)
  • 1 Frozen puff pastry sheet thawed overnight in the refrigerator or for 30 minutes at room temperature
  • 1 Egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (or substitute with maple syrup for an earthy flavor)
  • ¼ cup Chopped pecans lightly toasted for enhanced flavor
  • ¼ cup Dried cranberries or substitute with dried fruit like apricots or figs
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh rosemary finely chopped (optional)
  • Assorted crackers crostini, or warm baguette slices
  • Fresh fruit such as apple slices, pear wedges, or grapes

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to remove creases and ensure even thickness (about 1/8 inch). Keep the pastry cold until ready to use.

Assemble the Brie

  • Place the brie wheel in the center of the puff pastry. Drizzle honey over the cheese, then sprinkle with chopped pecans and cranberries.

Wrap the Pastry

  • Fold the pastry over the brie, pinching the edges to seal it tightly. Trim excess pastry and place the wrapped brie seam-side down on the baking sheet.

Apply Egg Wash

  • Lightly beat an egg and brush it over the pastry for a golden, glossy finish.

Bake the Brie

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed. Your kitchen will be filled with a delicious aroma.

Rest and Garnish

  • Let the brie rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh rosemary for added color and aroma.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Transfer the baked brie to a serving platter with crackers, bread, and fresh fruit. Slice into the pastry to reveal the gooey brie inside—it's sure to impress!
