  • 1 cup All-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups Panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
  • Olive oil (for baking)
  • Cooked spaghetti or zucchini noodles Optional
  • A side salad or garlic bread Optional

Instructions
 

  • Prep the Cauliflower:
    - Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
    - Wash the cauliflower and cut it into thick slices or "steaks." Save any florets that fall off and roast them alongside the steaks.

  • Bread the Cauliflower:
    - Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
    - Dip each cauliflower steak into the flour, coat it in the egg, and then press it into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

  • Bake the Cauliflower:
    - Place the breaded cauliflower steaks on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray olive oil over the steaks for extra crispiness.
    - Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the steaks and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Add Sauce and Cheese:
    - Remove the cauliflower from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each piece. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
