Base Ingredients

  • 15 oz Black beans, drained & rinsed
  • 15 oz Refried beans
  • 1 cup Sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
  • ½ cup Salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Toppings (Optional)

  • ¼ cup Chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup Diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup Sliced green onions
  • ¼ cup Sliced jalapeños
  • ¼ cup Crumbled cotija cheese (or feta)

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ cup Corn kernels
  • ¼ cup Chopped black olives
  • ¼ cup Cooked ground beef or chorizo
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix Beans & Spices – In a large bowl, mash the black beans. Add refried beans, sour cream, salsa, and spices. Mix well.

  • Add Cheese – Stir in half of the shredded cheese.

  • Transfer to Baking Dish – Spread the mixture evenly into a baking dish.

  • Bake – Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly.
